My Approach & Values

I don’t believe therapy in Calgary should be one-size-fits-all. Every adult, kid, or teen brings their own history, values, and goals, so I adapt my approach to fit you. My work is trauma-informed, integrative, and grounded in both evidence-based practices and genuine human connection.

Here are the values that guide how I show up in therapy:

Authenticity – Let’s be real.

Therapy should feel like two humans having a purposeful conversation, not a performance. I show up as myself: warm, honest, sometimes direct, occasionally funny, so you can do the same.

In practice: This can look like gentle challenges, candid reflection, and transparent explanations when I share tools or psychoeducation.
Why it matters: Healing starts when you feel safe enough to be fully yourself.

Autonomy – You lead, I light the way.

You’re the expert on your life. My role is to offer tools, perspective, and honest feedback while respecting your choices.

In practice: This shows up as collaborative goal-setting, empowering language, and always asking “What feels right to you?”
Why it matters: Lasting change only happens when it fits your life, not someone else’s agenda.

Relational Healing – Growth through connection.

Therapy’s power comes from relationships: the one we build together, and the support networks you strengthen outside the therapy room.

In practice: It is attuned listening, building trust, and offering group therapy and workshops to create community connections.
Why it matters: Connection is the antidote to isolation. Healing happens when you feel supported and not alone.

Growth & Empowerment – A lighter, more confident you.

Therapy should leave you feeling not just understood, but equipped. I aim for sessions that bring both insight and tools you can use in daily life.

In practice: Solution-focused tools, emotion-focused processing, celebrating “aha” moments, and giving practical strategies that actually fit real life.
Why it matters: Clients leave therapy feeling lighter, more confident, and more capable of creating the life they want.

Respect, Equity, & Advocacy – Fierce respect for who you are.

I center respect, choice, and justice in my work — honoring each client’s identity and naming the systems that contribute to pain when it matters.

My goal is always to create a space that feels safe, authentic, and empowering, where you leave not just with insight, but with tools for real change.
